The fourth-grade Lions now have more than sixty essays sent to various organizations and famous people around the world. We are now receiving responses on a daily basis. So far we have heard from:
Last week, the children performed their fourth-grade musical. The Lions retold the story of John Henry, the African American folk hero, who hammered steel drills into rock to make holes for explosives.
Last week, author, Emma Otheguy, visited Quest and discussed Cuban American culture and the art of writing. She has recently published a book called Marti’s Song about her family hero, Jose Marti.

During the last two weeks, sixty persuasive essays have been sent to various famous people and organizations around the world. A letter of acknowledgment was sent to Jimmy from the Boston Red Sox appreciating his support of their organization. In his essay, Jimmy claimed that Ted Williams was a better baseball player than Joe DiMaggio.
